IT Project Manager – Service Delivery

OVERVIEW

The Project Manager – Service Delivery is a new role within Element Critical responsible for end-to-end program and project management of various customer impacting activities including delivery of services post sales order (order implementation), and operational transition of services to new vendors, services and systems.  The role will also involve providing project management oversight for other company projects as necessary.  We will rely on your expertise to develop an orderly process flow, ensure timelines for projects are set and met, constraints and roadblocks well-understood and clearly communicated, and customers are informed.   The candidate should be comfortable working within a highly matrixed organization, be very organized, capable of recognizing and prioritizing activities appropriately based on high-level direction and have a strong customer focus.  The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, natural facilitator, communicator, and advocate.

LOCATION AND REPORTING:

This person will sit in our Tysons Corner, VA office and will report to the Director Of Product Development

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

 

  • Develop and carry out project plans for successful service implementation using industry best practices, methodologies, and tools to ensure on-time delivery of milestones
  • Coordinate between various internal and external project stakeholders, including customers, employees, and vendors
  • Communicate early and often on progress and/or limiting constraints
  • Mitigate and manage risks to timelines, resolving issues in a timely manner
  • Coordinate and manage multiple business unit development efforts, including software, product development, engineering, and operations
  • Create and maintain project and process documentation
  • Contribute to process improvements
  • Manage changes to the project scope and/or project schedule
  • Develop and maintain custom reports and/or dashboards

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Development and management of operational processes around project management
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; strong customer service skills
  • Self-starter with a history of excellent communication and time management skills
  • Understanding of Information Technology concepts including data center, network and managed services
  • Experience managing multiple projects at the same time with widely different scopes

 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4+ years of project management experience at an IT service provider or related industry
  • PMP or other project certification is a plus
